How Pool Chlorination Systems Water Sanitizing System Works

Q. How does SOFT CHLOR work?

A. Utilizing the daily operation of your pool filter pump, SOFT CHLOR converts the small amount of salt (sodium chloride) in your pool water to produce chlorine. The chlorine sanitizes your pool and in the process is converted back into salt. The cycle then starts over. Salt is not consumed during this conversion/reconversion process but constantly recycled.

Q. How Salty is the Pool?

A. At only one-seventh the salinity of sea water, the salt concentration is very low (0.5%) and barely detectable to the taste. In fact, it is about half the salinity of a human tear drop. At this low level, salt is non-corrosive and will not harm other pool equipment.Salty is the Pool

Q. What benefits will I see?

A. Several. The antiseptic qualities of salt combined with swimming in a mild saline solution help reduce eye, skin and other irritations which can be caused by chlorine tablets, granules, liquid or gas. The unpleasant smell and taste of chlorine is minimized making the pool a happier place for asthmatics and similar allergy sufferers. Pool water develops a luxurious, soft feel.

Soft Chlor Benefits

  • Maintains optimum sanitizer level 365 days a year.
  • Automatically ‘shocks’ water – no chloramine build up.
  • Produces pure sanitizer at a neutral pH.
  • Inhibits algae growth, cloudiness and scaling.
  • Salt level too low to harm pool equipment.
  • Contributes to improving water clarity.
  • Clean, soft, luxurious pool water.
  • Reduces bleaching of swim wear and hair discoloration.
  • Reduces eye, skin and nasal irritation.
  • Convenient – no more buying, handling and storing of chlorine.
  • Eliminates the allergy-aggravating use of commercial liquid, tablet, granule or gas chlorine.
  • Eliminates many of the problems associated with hard water.
  • Saves time, money and the environment – produces sanitizer instantly (at a fraction of the cost of regular chemical sanitizer) from a natural product – salt.

Q. I use a pool service company. What good is the system to me?

A. In addition to the therapeutic benefits mentioned above, there are no severely high or critically low levels of chlorine between service visits which can make swimming in your pool uninviting. SOFT CHLOR is like having your service company stop by every day to add just the right amount of chlorine to ensure a safe, ideal sanitization level for swimming.

Q. How is SOFT CHLOR installed?

A. The compact SOFT CHLOR system is easily fitted to new or existing pools  of all surface types. The very low D.C. voltage electrolytic cell is plumbed into the return-to-pool line after the filter, heater, etc. For domestic models, the power supply is spliced into the filter pump timer controls.

Q. I service the pool myself. What do I save by using SOFT CHLOR?

A. Time, money, guesswork and the environment! SOFT CHLOR completely eliminates the need for routine purchase, storage and addition of regular chlorine, making your pool easy and inexpensive to maintain. Used with the filter pump cycle, SOFT CHLOR automatically takes the guesswork out of keeping your pool sanitizer at its optimum daily level. It also recycles a natural product (salt) making the system environmentally positive.pool myself

Q. Aren’t all salt chlorinator systems much the same?

A. No. When it comes to chlorine production, many systems available on the market are easily maxed out, leaving them unable to effectively cope with pool size, bather load and/or climate requirements. SOFT CHLOR addresses this “chlorine demand” issue by offering many different sized models.

Soft Chlor™ has one of the largest range of saltwater chlorinators in the United States. Soft Chlor™ has put over 30 years into the research and development of salt water chlorinators. Lead the industry in technology.

It is a safe, clean, easy alternative to dosing your pool with hazardous, expensive and messy chlorine granules, tablets, liquid or gas. Now that the Summer is coming to a close, and I have been able to enjoy the benefits of your Soft Chlor electrolytic cell on my pool for an entire season, I thought it would be appropriate to let you know what an excellent product I and my family think it is.

It has been a pleasure not to experience the nasal congestion, sinus problems and red eyes which I have experienced in the past when I used chlorine powder or tablets to chlorinate the pool. In addition, the water really does feel softer and my wife does not experience the adverse problems which excess chlorine exposure had previously caused with her hair.

The consistent daily treatment of the water by means of the automatic timer has also relieved me of endless hours of pool maintenance related to inconsistent or inadequate manual chlorination in the past, and as a result has cut down on supplemental chemical cost almost completely.

To summarize, in terms of time, effort and chemical costs, I believe the Soft Chlor system has more than paid for itself in a single season. The added benefits which I mentioned above have added to our pleasure. Please do not hesitate to use me as a reference, as I believe this product should not be kept a secret.
