1996 Acura Integra GS-R

The Acura Integra GS-R was a success for Honda. Honda’s focus was to make a car that could be daily driven, but still perform well on the track. And with the B18C1 DOHC VTEC engine producing 170HP and 128 ft-lbs of torque, it did exactly that! But this feature is all about Dillon Thai’s specific heavily modified version that never ceases to amaze.

The long journey of this car started when Dillon bought it from his brother about 5 or 6 years ago. The original GS-R motor blew a piston ring. So he swapped in a stock LSVTEC meaning, a stock bottom end, and a stock internal B16 head with a GSR Transmission. At one point he had a Greddy TD05h turbo kit that ended up blowing the headgasket. So he fixed it up with a time sert kit and steel sleeves, and now it works incredibly. Dillon did almost all of the work was done in his garage.

Not all of the work has been under the hood, in fact, the whole front end was completely swapped to the JDM DC2 Type R front. Originally, the Integra was red with the stock bug-eyed headlights. But Dillon decided to make the change to give it that JDM look that is so widely popular today. After completing the swap, the entire car got a new pearl white paint job by Precision Auto Body in Sacramento. Now that the outside was near “completion” (that never really ends), Dillon started his work on the interior.

The first thing you notice are the red Recaro front seats and the custom wrapped headliner. Dillon has a countless amount of mods in the interior that make this car truly one-of-a-kind. From the aftermarket steering wheel to the custom gauge clusters, this car is nothing less than stunning. Dillon definitely has a good eye for what looks good together which helps this Integra make the transformation to a show car.

Now that Dillon has bought a daily driver, the Integra will most likely be a show/track car. His plans include paint matching the engine bay, and possibly building a new engine once he is ready.
