Annual physical exams – We strive to prevent illness and the time and effort invested in our wellness program has rewards for pets and owners. Our program includes complete physical examination; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.
On-site blood work – We have an on-site lab facility. In case of emergency, we have access to a supply of blood for all types of pets.
Pharmo and Nutritional medicine – Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet.
Dental Care – Dental care of dogs and cats is one of the most commonly overlooked areas of pet health care.
Micro chipping – Dog and cat micro chipping is a simple procedure. Our veterinarians simply inject a microchip for pets, about the size of a grain of rice, beneath the surface of your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. The process is similar to a routine shot, takes only a few seconds, and your pet will not react any more than he would to a vaccination. No anesthetic is required.
Spay and neutering surgeries – Whether you’ve recently adopted a pet or you’re considering it, one of the most important health decisions you’ll make is to spay or neuter your cat or dog.
X-rays – X-rays help our veterinarians diagnose muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary problems.
OFA X-rays and certification are available.
Emergency medicine and surgeries – We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology.
Allergy treatments – Pet allergies are caused by numerous factors such as diet, airborne substances or parasites. The symptoms of the allergies include sneezing, skin itchiness, dermatitis, runny nose, watery eyes or behavioral changes and irritability. Our veterinarians will discuss the treatment options ranging from avoidance of allergens to allergy shots.
Orthopedic procedures – Our veterinarians are able to perform many different types of procedures your pet might need for a variety of problems.
US and International Health Certificates – Whether your pet is traveling within the United States or to an international destination, our trained staff will help you with the certifications required for your next trip.
Behavioral Medicine – Illness doesn’t always have a physical cause. Our veterinarians can help to determine the cause of such disorders as separation anxiety and obsessive behavior, and then develop a treatment regimen for the client.
Medical Boarding – Sometimes our patients may need a bit of extra care. Our highly qualified team provides tender loving care during those special times.
Pharmacy – We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field.
About park veterinary clinic
The FOREST PARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL was founded in October, 1974, as the Ernst Animal Hospital by Dr. Garry E. Ernst. The practice opened on East 23rd Street and moved to the present location on Jenks Avenue in June, 1977. Since the hospital moved to the Forest Park area of Panama City, in August, 1980, it seemed appropriate that the name change to FOREST PARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL. Dr. Ernst retired in April, 2004, and sold the practice to Dr. Stephen B. Favaloro.
The interior consists of a large client waiting room, business office, three large exam rooms, lab-pharmacy room, surgery prep room, surgery room, X-ray room, and four inside runs, cage room with Shoreline stainless steel cages of various sizes, oxygen therapy cage, and a “true” isolation room with five Shoreline cages. The general decor is “warm” pastel colors.
