Manhattan Arts Center Offers K-State Students with Budget-Friendly Activities

If you are looking for different ways to make an impact in the Manhattan community or to spend your evenings without spending your wallet, the Manhattan Arts Center (MAC) may have what you are looking for. Since its opening in 1996, MAC has offered a variety of events for K-State students and Manhattan residents:

  • Theatre Productions
  • Musical Performances
  • Art Exhibits
  • Several classes and more.

On top of this, the Arts Center offers discounted pricing for K-State students with a valid student ID.

“We realize a lot of K-State students don’t have the budget,” Marketing and Education Director, Kim Belanger said, “We have accommodated that with our special pricing.” Furthermore, the impact of MAC stems above the costs; they provide K-State students with the opportunity to get involved.

“We love students to volunteer,” Belanger said, “We can always use assistance backstage or in our production crew.” Students and community members are encouraged to audition for and participate in Manhattan Arts Center’s various programs.

The MAC office is open to new ideas for incoming acts and classes. Anyone is welcome to stop by Monday-Friday between noon and 5pm to share their thoughts or browse the Center’s galleries.

“We are offering high-quality productions,” Belanger said, “We want K-State to know that the Manhattan Arts Center is totally accessible for all budgets, tastes and interests.”
