About Consiglio’s Restaurant

Annunziata and Salvatore Consiglio probably never expected that 75 years after they opened a small, neighborhood Italian restaurant that their grandchildren and even their great grandchildren would continue their legacy.

After immigrating to the Wooster Street area from Amalfi, Italy, Annunziata and Salvatore opened “The Big Apple” steps away from their home and enlisted the help of their eight children to operate the restaurant. As the family worked long hours as chefs, hosts, bartenders, waiters, kitchen help and everything in between, its good reputation and popularity grew, extending beyond the neighborhood and becoming a New Haven favorite. When New Haven’s redevelopment program forced the restaurant to move from its original location across the street, the family changed the name to “Consiglio’s” and moved a few doors down to its current address.

Today, the Consiglio family continues its decades-long tradition of offering authentic, delicious, home-made Italian fare with friendly hospitality the New York Times referred to as “convivial.” Indeed, a meal at Consiglio’s with family and friends is always an experience to savor and enjoy. Murder Mystery Dinner

The Dinner Theatre includes an interactive comedy show that goes on throughout the evening as you enjoy a 3-course meal.
The cast mingles from table to table, dropping clues for a mystery that only you can solve! Join us for a fun and hilarious show!
Doors open at 6pm, Show starts at 7 – tickets are $55 for dinner and show

Cooking Classes

A four-course meal demonstrated right before your eyes! Each course is shown, step by step, for a small group, and then served to you from our kitchen. Enjoy a fun and entertaining evening out with your friends or family and learn how to make some of Consiglio’s trademark dishes! Sit back, relax and enjoy! All classes start at 6:30 p.m. $65 per person

Due to constant fluctuations in food costs, prices always subject to change.
A 20% gratuity is added to parties of 6 or more. Our pastry chef is available to make cakes for special occasions. Please let your server know if you have any food allergies.

Easy, if it’s the sleuthing party at Consiglio’s grand restaurant on Wooster Street in New Haven known for fine Italian dining experiences for 77 years as well as the comic and ingenious murder mysteries devised and hosted by improvisational entertainer Michael Sayers.

As a resident in the New Haven area, my family frequents many Italian restaurants on a regular basis. Consiglio’s on Wooster St. is my favorite for non pretentious quality food.
The wait staff is always courteous, the menu varied and the atmosphere fine for casual dining.
This is not 5 star dining. This is a friendly, local restaurant with fresh food and a nice wine selection.
It also has the best calimari I have ever tasted!
Look forward to my meal every time we get to Wooster St.
Then we go down the block for Italian ices at Libby’s.
