Field Sales Position

Job Purpose:

Field Service Engineer

The primary function of the Field Service Engineer is to provide field service engineering and technical assistance to customers
in areas of installation, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification on power transmission, distribution and generation equipment and systems. Individual must be capable of self-managing assigned projects for electrical equipment, including working knowledge of electrical test and diagnostic equipment.

Equipment includes: transformers, oil circuit breakers, power circuit breakers, metal-clad and enclosed switchgear, protective relays, power cables, substation equipment, motor control centers, medium voltage control, excitation equipment, automatic transfer switches, rotating equipment and AC Drives.
Candidate must be able to deliver technical solutions to customers with a high degree of professionalism. Performs conventional, engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, preparation of specifications, process studies, or research investigations.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, with ability to be flexible to adjust to changing field conditions.

Willingness to provide emergency response after hours. Travel is required. Strong computer skills are preferred.

Skills/Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required. 3-5 yrs. experience in a field service environment. Must
have ability to work on VFD’s start-up and troubleshooting. Candidate should also have experience servicing some or all
of the following: transformers, switchgear, relays. Experience managing small to medium turnkey projects is a plus.

Power Systems Engineer

Job Description: Industrial Tests, Inc.has an opening for a Power Systems Engineer in Sacramento, California area. Position has location flexibility within Northern, CA.

* The primary purpose of this position is to provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, power quality analysis, installation, startup, maintenance, repair and training.

* Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates. Performs engineering assignments that may involve power systems analysis, power quality measurements and audits, consulting and design services, troubleshooting, and problem solving relative to power distribution equipment.

* This position would focus on short circuit, coordination, arc flash, load flow and power quality analysis.

* Interpret specs and customer inquiries and design technical proposals and pricing for customers. * May design and conduct specialized training for customers. * May mentor or lead other engineers on projects. * May perform field testing and lead start-up acceptance testing crews as necessary. * Must contain job costs and stay with budget.Job Qualifications/Educational Requirements:BS degree in Electrical Engineering is required, MS Degree in Engineering is preferred.

5-7 years experience of power systems engineering work.

PE license (or equivalent) is preferred.

Strong computer skills required. Experience in the use of Easy Power and SKM software or similar is required.

Evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems is desirable.

Understanding of the company’s competitor’s electrical, electronic and mechanical products and services.

Knowledge of corporate and business unit policies.

Working knowledge of billing and invoicing policies for service.

Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.

Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.
