Januray 12th – Mike Sannar starts his career with Industrial Tests, Inc. Mike will be working as an Industrial Salesmen covering Northern California and Reno, Nevada. Mike graduated from Sierra College with and EET degree and also has experience with Roseville Electric.

January 11th – AT&T schedules final testing of $14,000 preventative maintenance of switchboards at cell phone towers in Stockton, CA.

January 10th – Second phase of transformer and generator relay testing for Los Angeles County Calabasa Waste to Energy site commences.

January 8th – State of California puchases rebuilt Westinghouse DB-50 Air Circuit Breaker with etc-12 microproccessor trip kit. etc-12 features built in arc flash protection.

January 4th – NETA performs onsite shop review as part of Industrial Tests, Inc applicaton process for full NETA membership.

January 2nd – Vierra Magen patent and trademark attorney is retained by Industrial Tests, Inc. as legal counsel for related work. Vierra Magen represents companies such as Microsoft and other fortune 500 companies.

January 1st – Industrial Tests, Inc. closes books on 2009 with revenue at approximately $1,000,000.00

December 31st – ConAgra awards $50,000 unit substation maintenance job at their Gilroy Garlic plant.

December 28th – Christmas maintenance shutdown at Cypress SVTC in San Jose, CA completed.

December 27th – LAM Research in Freemont, CA completed during a 24 hour shutdown.

December 19th – Dey Labs primary breaker testing work performed in one day outage.

December 18th – AT&T awards maintenance work to Industrial Tests, Inc. for cell phone tower back-up generator system.

December 14th – East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) project in Richmond, California start-up and testing work begins on 2 MW back-up power project.

Decmber 1st – New hire Mike Harvey, Account Consultant starts his career by picking up several requests for qoute from Collins Electric. Mike will be covering the valley area from South Sacramento to Bakersfield.

November 30th – Ormat in Reno request Industrial Tests, Inc to retest Basler Overcurrent relays after nuisance tripping of the Generator. An electrotesting competitor had previously tested the relays in April and incorrectly set an overcurrent relay. Industrial Tests has been asked to check all the relays.

November 23rd – LA County Calabasas Gas to Energy Facility job begins with ITI testing of GE 489 Generator Protection Relays, GE B90 Bus Differential, GE 745 Transformer relay and Beckwith 3520 Utility Intertie relays.

November 12th – Rosendin Electric awards transformer oil removal/replacement project to ITI.

November 9th – LAM Research chooses Industrial Tests, Inc over Emerson Reliability Services for Preventative Maintenance Contract.

November 6th – General Chemical in Richmond, CA replacement of Digitrip 220 complete and the the nuisance tripping of 25MW cogen is eliminated.

November 4th – Fibrogen Pharmacutical contracts for 4000Amp Main Circuit Breaker replacement for their manufacturing facility in South San Francisco.

November 3rd – Blocka Construction selects Industrial Tests, Inc to test and calibrate GE 489 generator protection and Basler IPS100 Intertie relay for City of Ukia Waste Water Treatment Plant.

October 30th, 2009 – California State University Domguez Hills Short Circuit and Coordination Study begins for three (3) new campus buildings.

October 28th, 2009 – Northern Electric requests Harmonic Monitoring Analysis at the former Hammond Military Base and Load Montoring at Santa Rosa Hospital.

October 26th, 2009 – Square D Power Logic contracts for PLC wiring and controls work at Raging Wire Data Center.

The following services can be applied with any OEM manufacturers low voltage switchboard or low switchgear. As part of our routine services, Industrial Tests, Inc. provides ground fault testing and ground resistance testing to ensure safe performance of your power system.

NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE TESTING REQUIREMENTS

Article 230-95 for switchboards rated 1000 amperes or more.
Article 230-95 (c), Performance Testing. The ground fault protection system shall be performance tested when first installed on the site. The test shall be conducted in accordance with instructions which shall be provided with the equipment. A written record of this test shall be made and shall be available to the authority having jurisdiction.
Article 250-61 (b), Load-Side Equipment. The neutral shall not be used for grounding purposes nor should load side neutrals be grounded in any way. This could produce an erroneous signal in the ground fault sensing system, resulting in false tripping.

Ground Resistance Test

In addition the National Electric Code (NEC 250-81) requires an electrical test of the main grounding electrode and inspection of all accessible components of the grounding system for physical damage and installation in compliance with the local, state, national codes and regulations, and manufacturer’s instruction.

This field test will include a fall-of-potential test or alternative in accordance with the latest additon of IEEE Standard 8 on the main grounding electrode or system. Industrial Tests, Inc. will also perform point to point tests to determine the resistance between main grounding systems and all major electrical equipment frame, system neutral, and/or derived neutral points.
